Customize iPhone Theme

In this tutorial i will show you how to customize a theme. This tutorial is not about creating a custom theme. Its about customizing a theme you like, by changing a few icons. Learn how to mix and match icons from different themes into a theme you like. Your phone has to be jailbroken, you will need SSH installed and a custom theme already installed using winterboard.

Step 1:

First download these two files winscp and itunnel. This file will allow you to login to your iphone.

While your on the iphone go into installer and download OpenSSH. Open and run Make iTunnel

When you open the iTunnel window all you will see is the dos screen below.

Step 2:

With that window still open, Open and run winscp. Connect your iphone using the usb cable. In Winscp fill in the information shown below.

Click Login, when you click login you will see the window

Step 3:

After doing that you will see the window below, if you ssh into your iphone before using wifi you will recognize this window.

On the iphone, Click on winterboard.

Above you see i have the Vista Maximus Perfection theme installed.

Now in WinSCP browse to /private/var/stash/Themes.JupLrs. Look for the Theme you have installed. Mine is Vista Maximus Perfection

Go into the icon folder. Do a search on google for iphone themes, here is a few i found and used.

Download the theme and extract the icon folder, from here its simple. Just drag the files from the icon folder, into your iphone /private/var/stash/Themes.JupLrs/Vista Maximus Perfection.theme/Icons folder. If you have a web page saved on you iphone, and you want to change the icon. All you have to do is rename the icon with the exact name of the icon on the iphone. It has to be exact, the spaces, capital letters everything has to be identical.

After replacing the icons, go back into winderboard and uncheck and check the theme you have selected. This will reload the theme and your new icons will be visable.
